Many Thanks!

Hi Dave and Vicky:

Just wanted to say “hi” and give you a Molly update.  We’ve been in VA since June 1 and Molly has adjusted fabulously to our home up here.  As you know, we spent the first 10 days with her at our place in St. James where Molly met all kinds of friends, went to the beach, celebrated Memorial Day weekend with a big barbeque and listened to a great band!  We did our best to expose her to everything – people, places, noises, experiences – and she loved it all.  Molly does not seem the least bit intimidated, although I was afraid she might be over-stimulated….apparently, not the case at all.  Well, once Molly had  a little routine going in St. James, it was time to make the trip to VA and get used to the city life and my returning to work.

Despite our concerns that Molly was too young to adjust between two very different living experiences, she was “at home” at our VA townhouse after about 10 minutes of thorough sniffing.  She is now the hot dog of the neighborhood and she stops traffic everywhere.  We recently took her to an urban shopping/restaurant center (sort of like Mayfaire in Wilmington), and she was like a rock star – tons of people petting her, people taking her picture on their blackberries – it was a riot.  Molly took it all in stride.  We go for great walks every morning before work on a dedicated former rail trail that is now a biking/running path.  She’s met various dogs in the neighborhood.

Molly is so smart and growing by leaps and bounds.  When we picked her up from you she weighed 10 lbs.  At the vet, a couple of days later, she was 10.5 lbs. and less than two weeks later, she weighed 14.5 lbs.  I’m sure she is 18 lbs. now – almost too heavy to carry down these townhouse stairs all the time!  Both her NC and VA vets gave her a clean bill of health, and both fell in love with her instantly.

On Saturday, we have a trainer coming over to work with us on calming her biting/mouthing – we call it “alligator mouth.”  She is an absolute joy and we’re having so much fun with her.  We’ll be back down in St. James the 25th of June, and then I’ll be down again for about 10 days before and thru the 4th of July.

Hope you’re doing well – we’d love to bring Molly over for a visit someday.  Molly says hi and says she misses you guys.

Take care and keep in touch.  All the photos are from Memorial Day weekend – will send some more current pics shortly.

Hey Vickie,

Hope all is well.  We are nearing the end of our summer trip to Wyoming.  We've been here just over six weeks and head home on Tuesday.  We have surely enjoyed escaping the awful NC heat and humidity that we keep hearing about from home!

Attached are a few photos of the boys taken during this trip.  They've had a blast.  They get to go on animal rides (in the backseat of the Suburban) most evenings after dinner.  Or they sit and look for animals off our deck, and often see some.

We've seen a lot of elk, deer and antelope this trip.  We were even lucky enough to see some moose on the property.  We haven't seen many moose so that was exciting.  Fred saw a couple of bears this trip but I wasn't with him when he did.

Take care!

Hi David & Vickie,

Took Bodee in for the last of his puppy shots today. My vet said he was in perfect condition for his age. When I first took him in at 8 weeks he weighed in at 11.4 pounds. When I took him back 3 weeks later he weighed in at 18.3 pounds. Today he weighed in at 31 pounds. Hopefully he will grow into his feet which look like bear paws. He is going to be a great dog I know. He is happy all the time and is always going full speed. I have him working good on the leash and doing some retreiving. Hope all the other pups are as good as mine. These are just some of the pictures.

Thanks,

Arthur Gaddy

Hey David and Vicky!

Hope you are well and looking forward to the holidays!  Just thought I would drop you an email and let you know that Kona is doing great!  5 ½ months now…hard to believe.  She is very sweet and growing like crazy.  We just love having her and are enjoying having another addition to the family.  Attached are some pics for you to enjoy.  She is already a little over 40lbs….think she is going to be a big girl with those big paws she has!  I understand you also met my neighbors, Kristen & Brian Hipp…they are anxiously looking forward to getting a pup….Kona will have a playmateJ  Take care and hope your family has a wonderful holiday!
